I feel it is a privilege to be a therapist. I love my work. I take a creative and collaborative approach in my practice, researching innovative techniques and information to help you make the changes you desire.
My clinical focus includes: eating disorders, fitness and exercise balance, and body image struggles. Clients also seek my services for relational struggles, difficult life transitions, feeling "stuck" or seeking a higher quality of life, depression, anxiety, social phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder and stress management. My practice includes full spectrum eating disorder work ranging from working with people who are grappling with bulimia, anorexia, binge eating, compulsive/emotional eating, and orthorexia. I address body image concerns and help clients gain insight in order to develop effective coping mechanisms.
I am a member of the Columbia River Eating Disorder Network, National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA), and the International Academy for Eating Disorder. I work with a multidisciplinary team with nutritionists and physicians who specialize in eating disorders. I am also an adjunct professor at Lewis and Clark Eating Disorder Training and Certificate program.
In addition, I have a specialization in couples work. I have completed training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, which helps couples seek greater intimacy, heal after an affair, or cope with marital distress. With this approach, couples communicate their emotions effectively, create an intimate, secure bond with each other, and heal from past injuries. I see many clients who are dealing with relationship loss or who are facing difficult relationship decisions.
I have both daytime and evening office hours available.
